Rodeo Songs

by Scott on August 7, 2007

I love ‘em! I was talking to a buddy at work today about our favorite rodeo songs, and I actually can’t think of a rodeo song I don’t like. I would have a hard time ranking my favorites in order, at least after the one I’d call the best–”Amarillo by Morning – George Strait’s Greatest Hits” by George Strait–remember, this blog is mostly about songs that were big on the radio:

I ain’t got a dime, but what I got is mine

I ain’t rich, but Lord, I’m free

“Beaches of Cheyenne”, “Rodeo”, “Wild Horses”, and “Much Too Young to Feel This Damn Old” by Garth Brooks are all up there for me as well. Then I’d have to go back to George Strait for “I Can Still Make Cheyenne – Blue Clear Sky”.

Now that the radio is out of the way, let’s be honest. I could have titled this post “Rodeo Songs”, written the words “Chris LeDoux” in the body, and left it at that. I’ll take his version of Amarillo By Morning.”
